Prós

Baumann’s best quality. He reads play well, positions himself smartly for crosses and through-balls, and rarely gets caught out of place.

When the ball is within his comfortable reach, his hands are reliable. Catches and controlled grabs are frequent against shots inside his strike zone.

Contras

This is the central weakness. No matter how good his diving or reflex numbers might read on paper, a shorter goalkeeper simply can’t cover as much cross/shot area as a 6'5" presence.

Expect difficulties with high-driven crosses, back-post headers, and shots aimed to the far corner that require extreme reach.

Stretching for top-corner shots will look slower or come up short more often than with taller keepers.

Because of his reach limitations, punches and claims at crowded set pieces are riskier.

No long thrower trait, he won’t be the goalkeeper who reliably starts counterattacks with long, accurate throws.

Oliver Baumann is an intelligent goalkeeper, However his height and limited reach are real liabilities in the air and on extreme corner/cross situations. Bottom line: great for possession / low-cross teams who want a safe, positionally-sound keeper, not the best choice if your system needs an aerial-dominant, long-throwing sweeper-keeper.
