Matheus excels in reflex saves, reacting quickly to shots from close range. His ability to make sharp saves is a key asset for preventing goals from tight angles or rapid-fire shots.

His diving is highly effective, combined with excellent handling, making him reliable in stopping shots while retaining possession. His ability to keep hold of the ball reduces the risk of rebounds.
