Prós

For a CM who stays involved in build-up rather than constant forward runs, his pace feels very balanced.

His shooting with his strong foot (right) is one of his biggest highlights. He’s not a striker-type finisher, but for a CM, his shooting output is well above average and can easily decide tight matches.

As an absolute playmaker, this is where Scholes truly shines. His passing range is elite, short passes, through balls, long diagonals, and quick one-touch passes all feel crisp and precise.

His joystick dribbling is decent rather than outstanding. However, he’s not a skill-move merchant, and you shouldn’t expect explosive dribbling past multiple defenders.

Defensively, Scholes offers decent defending ability. He reads passing lanes well, makes timely interceptions, and can poke the ball away cleanly.

His physicality is respectable. Combined with his balance, he feels sturdy during midfield duels.

A major plus is his stamina. Scholes can comfortably last the full 90 minutes, constantly recycling possession.

Contras

The main downside is his 4-star weak foot. While it’s not terrible, you will occasionally notice missed opportunities or slightly weaker passes when forced onto his left.

He excels at dictating tempo, distributing the ball, and contributing with long-range goals, while still offering solid defensive support and excellent stamina. His lack of flair and the 4-star weak foot prevent him from being “meta-broken,” but in the right system, he’s an elite CM who makes your entire team function better.
