Cucurella’s pace is outstanding for a left-back. He accelerates quickly, recovers well on counters, and can comfortably handle fast wingers.

Defensively, he’s very reliable. He’s strong in one-on-one defending, positioning himself well to block passing lanes and force attackers wide rather than diving in recklessly.

Despite not being the biggest fullback, Cucurella is surprisingly physical. He competes well in duels, presses aggressively, and doesn’t get bullied easily.

One of his biggest strengths is his playmaking ability. Cucurella is excellent at short passing, quick link-up play, and delivering accurate balls into midfield or down the line.

His high/high work rates define his gameplay. He’s constantly moving, overlapping in attack, pressing high when needed, and sprinting back to defend.
