Ljungberg has the right burst of speed you want from a wide player. He’s quick enough to outrun defenders on the wings and sharp when making runs in behind.

Unlike many wide midfielders who are mainly creators, Ljungberg brings a direct threat in front of goal. His finishing with his right foot is reliable, especially inside the box, and he can also strike from range if given space.

He can act as the creative link between midfield and attack. His passing ability, both short, quick exchanges and well-weighted through balls, means he can set up strikers or cut inside to create opportunities.

His dribbling is fluid and responsive, so he doesn’t feel clunky on the ball. He can glide past defenders with close control, combine well in tight spaces, and carry the ball forward effectively.

Unlike some lightweight RMs, Ljungberg has surprising strength and balance. He can hold off defenders when shielding the ball, and he won’t easily get muscled out in duels.
