Avantages
He combines acceleration and sprint speed well, ideal for stretch-the-line counter attacks and through-ball finishes. Excellent getting-in-behind threat.
Clinical inside the box. Very good composure and placement on his stronger side, finishes under pressure, times his shots well, and converts crosses and low driven finishes reliably.
Good first touch and close control; he doesn’t lose the ball cheaply and links up quickly for short passing sequences when needed.
Strong enough to hold off defenders, win aerial 50/50s when positioned correctly, and withstand physical marking. Makes him less vulnerable to aggressive defenders.
Inconvénients
4 star weak foot, he can be awkward when forced onto his weaker foot, shots, volleys, or quick finishes on the weak side have lower conversion and more mishits. Position him so his strong foot is the primary option.
Not the striker you want to drop into midfield to orchestrate attacks. His through balls and long, creative passes are average.

Verdict final
Gary Lineker is a very effective, reliable for teams built around direct play and service into the box. If you want a striker who times runs, finishes clinically with his strong foot, and physically competes with defenders, he’s excellent. He’s less suited to systems that demand dropping deep as a playmaker or creating from midfield.
