Avantages

Pace for a CB, excellent acceleration and recovery speed; ideal for covering space behind a high defensive line and chasing runners.

Decent reactions, reads danger quickly, good at reacting to deflections, flick-ons and loose balls.

Defending agility, nimble feet, can change direction quickly to follow quick attackers; helps in tight 1v1s and when closing down space.

Physicality, holds his ground in duels, isn’t easily bullied in tackles despite not being the tallest.

5 star weak foot, unusual but handy: if he gets a chance to shoot in the box (corner scramble, long clearance that falls to him), he’s more likely to put it on target.

Inconvénients

Height could be a con at times, struggles against tall strikers and is a liability on aerial set-pieces (both defensively and offensively). Won’t win as many headers as taller centre-backs.

Verdict final

A very useful modern centre-back for teams that value speed, mobility and quick reactions. Guehi’s pace and agility make him perfect as the reactive stopper in a backline, he neutralizes fast attackers and recovers well, but his lack of height means you must build a partnership that covers aerial threats. The 5 star weak foot is a delightful bonus, but don’t expect it to replace the need for a taller, commanding presence on set-pieces.
